Today at band Mr Rule gave us a new song to play, this song was the goodnight kiwi song that used to play on the TV every night. This was a challenge because I hadn't played a song like that one. But Mr Rule helped me with it and by the end of the practice I thought that I was getting the song easily. During the practice we also watched the goodnight kiwi add and that was a new thing ti me, I found it quite spectacular. After practice I said to Mr Rule that I thanked him for helping me out with the song. The care value I showed was Active thinking because I got help when I needed it, I also showed the leadership trait of resilient's because when I got stuck I didn't give up.

Today at 10:20 all of my class had dance, when we arrived Dean that teacher told us to get into lines. The first dance did was the hip hop to Uptown funk, we had finished the whole dance so today was about perfecting it and adding in some little things. Then we moved onto the jive I had to partner up with Liam, we had to do the whole dance from the beginning and then go over one of the steps called over the head behind the back. After our dance time had finished I said to Ashley hat me and her had shown respect by joining in on the dance and listening to Dean.  I also showed the leadership trait of resilient's because when I got stuck I didn't give up.

On Friday I had garden to table, Mr McAven put us into pairs I was with Ashley and Dabok. When we were at the garden Mr McAven gave us a job to do, our job was weeding. We had to weed plant box's 16,14,18 and 20. After we had done that Mr McAven told us that if we wanted to do more we could so we did. Just before the bell rang we got given some little kids to help us the first thing we did with them was get them gloves, then we told them what to do when weeding. After about ten minutes the bell rang so we had to get the little kids back to class and wash their hands. When I was walking them back to their class I asked if they enjoyed gardening and they said yes, I felt very proud of my self for taking part in them having fun. The care value I showed has respect because I was doing what Mr McAven wanted.  I also showed the leadership trait of  Active thinker because when I got stuck I problem solved.

On Monday it was assembly and the choir was singing in it. When the choir was asked to come up onto the stage everyone walked on, we had a sheet of paper with the lyrics on it so if we got stuck we could look at that. The first song we were singing was How far i'll go and I thought we sang that pretty well. Our second song was Africa and that was spectacular because we had added harmonies into it so that one half of the group was singing high and the other was singing low. After we had finished I told my friend that we had sung both songs really well and that by joining choir we have shown community.  I also showed the leadership trait of  goal focused because when I  was focused on what I needed to achieve.

Today at lunch time I had band practice. When I got there I saw that Jak was there, I walked into the radio station room and got out a stand then tuned my guitar. I helped Emily out with her drum set. Then we started to practice, we practiced can't stop the feeling. It was going alright. Mr Rule said that we would be preforming in three weeks and that made me a little bit nervous. Later on Mr Rule made only the guitars play and then I got really worried about preforming because I noticed that it wasn't that great, but that helped me want to motivate myself to keep practicing so I can get better and better. The care value I showed has excellence because I was trying my best.  I also showed the leadership trait of resilient's because when I got stuck I didn't give up.

Today I had band practice. When I arrived there I found out that instead of doing band practice Mrs Trotter had asked as to  introduce our self's at the end of term assembly. Then Mr Rule told us that we were going to make up a little routine to make a video so Ashley and I decided to say " hi my names Ashley and hi my names Maddy and we are in the Oaklands school band" then we were going to jump of the stage. After this Mr Rule  told us that we were then going to do a big group video so we did. After that Mr Rule told us that we could go, while coming back I was thinking about how much leadership I was showing by joining the school band. The care value that I showed was Community because I was contributing to the school.  I also showed the leadership trait of resilient's because when I got stuck I didn't give up and I also had to problem solve which is active thinker.

Today I had band practice, When lunch time came Ashley and I went over to the hall The first thing we did was go into the radio room to get the music stands. Then we put our stand out with chairs then we got our guitars out and started to tune our guitars, while we were tuning Mr Rule walked in. Then when everyone was ready Mr Rule told us that we could do two songs so we chose Hey Jude and Can't stop the feeling. Mr Rule gave us the Music for Can't stop the feeling, Ashley and I didn't know one of the cords so we looked at our cord chart and we found out what that cord was. Today I thought that I showed Active Thinking by problem solving when things got tough.  I also showed the leadership trait of resilient's because when I got stuck I didn't give up.

Today I had Band practice, when I arrived at band I started to tune my guitar. After this Mr Rule and us started to play through the song, we had to be careful that we didn't sped it up. Something that Mr Rule said we have to work on is when we hit a note to make that strum louder. We practiced doing this and Mr Rule said it was sounding good. While we were doing this I was trying to learn the cords of by heart. Mr Rule said that he was going to play the piano for us so we could find the beat. Before I new it band practice was over and we had to go back to class, while I was going back to class I was thinking about band practice and thinking that I should keep on trying to learn the cords of by heart. The care value I showed has Excellence because I was trying to learn the cords of by heart.  I also showed the leadership trait of  goal focused because I was focused to learn the cords of by heart.

Today I had Band practice. At lunch Ashley and I crabbed our guitars and walked to the hall. When we arrived at the hall We put our guitars on the stage then we went into the radio room and got a music stand. After we all had our music stands we started to tune our guitars, we then started to play Hey Jude. The first thing we did was practice with the keyboards starting and then the guitars. I asked Mr Rule to make the song a little faster and everyone agreed so we did. Mr Rule made us try lot's of different orders, the order that was most successful was the one when the Violin started on Hey and then everyone else joined on Jude. After our practice we all put are stands away and then we left. When I got back to class I thought about how we sounded as a group and I thought we sounded pretty good. The care value I showed was Respect because I didn't give up. I also showed the leadership trait of  goal focused because I was focused on practicing.

Yesterday Mr Rule called a meeting at lunch for the band to attend. The instruments in the band are Guitar, Piano,drums, violin and flute, my role in the band is playing the guitar. So yesterday at lunch Ashley and I went to Mr Rules classroom and tuned our guitars, then when all the people were there we started our session. Mr Rule said that he would like to choose the first song for the band so he chose "Hey Jude" A lot of us didn't know that song so Mr Rule played it for us. After we had done that Mr Rule gave us the cords to it and said we could have a go playing it. When we had all had a try playing it we broke it up so the violinists played the intro and then the guitars and so on. Once we had a go playing it as a group Mr Rule said that it would be to hard having us all at the same time so he split us up, this meant that the guitarists would have to have their session on Mondays at lunch. After our practice I thought that I showed lots of the community value because I was participating in school activity's and getting involved. I also showed the leadership trait of Active thinker because I didn't know the song but I tried to problem solve and learn the song.
